Type one: EPB-Open Face TBM. Apart from being capable of maintaining earth pressure balance on working face, an EPB-Open Face TBM is also equipped with hard rock cutterhead and belt conveyor. This TBM adapts to soft rock, hard rock and transitional mix grounds. The boring /mucking modes can be changed according to geological requirements to minimize interferences and risks.

Type two: EPB-Slurry TBM. The EPB mode will be put to work when encountering a tunnel face with poor stability or moisture-rich soft soil, soft rock, sandy gravel and mixed ground in order that excavated mucks can receive liquidity and impermeability. The slurry mode can be launched when the cut face is richin water or with sandy gravels.
