CREG supplied two set of diameter 9.86m EPB TBMs for the Paris Metro Line 16 Lot 2 Project, whose FAT ceremony was held at the headquarters of CREG on the 4th of December 2019. The Project was 11.1km long with an overburden of 8-52m and a maximum water pressure of about 3-5 bar; the geology along the tunnel was mainly granular gypsum, silty clay, gypsum marl, limestone and sand. Considering the complex geological conditions, CREG carefully designed the TBM for this project. Following its launch on the 7th of April 2021, the first TBM reached its peak daily advance of 28m, and the ring erection was kept at approximately 21 minutes.
